Slow Shutter Cam app review: plenty of great camera effects 2021

Reviews

Introduction

Having reviewed more than a dozen iPhone and iPad apps in this category over the past couple of weeks, I was beginning to get tired of seeing the same features over and over again with a camera app. Slow Shutter Cam definitely caught me off guard.

Now instead of taking simple photos with the exact same shutter speed range, you can explore the new dimension of time lapse through your photography. People will wonder if you've used a DSLR camera to take these amazing pictures.

This iPhone camera app costs only $0.99 and makes the iPhone and iPad camera far more interesting and versatile, which is more than I can say for a lot of in-app purchases in many Photo & Video category apps. Let me take you through this app's features.

For more details about the features and functions of this good camera app for iPhone and iPad, check out our Slow Shutter Cam app review below.

Photo-Capturing Modes

There are three “modes” in which you can take pictures within the Slow Shutter Cam app, namely Motion Blur, Low Light, and Light Trail.

Motion Blur is similar to the shutter priority mode on DSLR cameras. This mode is ideal for producing a waterfall effect; making “ghost” images; and for displaying the movement of an object by adding a blur, for instance, a “blurred” runner going through the finish line, or a car zipping along on the road.

The second setting, Low Light, allows you to capture some really beautiful lighting, especially at night time. The typical pictures of car head and tail lights forming lines of light on roads can be achieved using this setting. Slow shutter speeds in dim light are also used to capture starry nights.

The longer you make the duration of the shutter speed, the more light will be collected within the image. The image you capture using this setting can be further fine-tuned by using a slider to adjust the exposure compensation, helping you achieve precision in the look you wish to attain.

Light Trails & More

Perfect for capturing fireworks, the Light Trail mode lets you paint your image with lights, especially if they are moving. This is arguably a better option than having a DSLR where you have to have work with specific settings to obtain the look you want.

Slow Shutter Cam comes with other features such as real time live preview, a “Freeze” control, exposure lock, tap-to-adjust focus and exposure, and a self-timer in case you want to be in the picture too!

With Slow Shutter Cam on your iPhone or iPod touch you get the features of a DSLR camera with the convenience of a device that you can drop in your pocket and take with you wherever you go. Download it now and put an end to mere snapshots!
