Loopy HD app review: a savvy, sophisticated, tactile new looper-2020

Reviews

Introduction

The Loopy app is a looper that, in the words of the developers, will “come out to play, but get down to work when you want to get serious,” and they’re not kidding! Enjoy a whole range of powerful features and extensive compatibility with this awesome bit of kit.

As a musician I always have a lot of fun reviewing an app for musicians like this one, and they usually take me about thrice as long as normal because I get sidetracked fiddling with the various features and seeing what kind of kooky sounds I can come up with.

While other music creation apps tend to be  powerful but difficult to learnor easy to use but limited in features, loopy hd app doesn't compromise. This musician app offers a sleek, expressive, instantly understandable interface that beginners can start using effectively straight away. It's fun, right from the start.

Loopy HD has been no exception, and I’m really loving what the developer has managed to pull together here, creating what I think is a highly effective and thoroughly enjoyable music recording app to use. It's sure to bring out your creative spirit like nothing else.

You'd Be Loopy to Miss This One!

Loopy HD makes it very easy for you to create some truly, well, loopy music, featuring six, nine, or twelve circular loops with handy features such as count-in, count-out, and record chaining that allows you to keep your hands free to play a musical instrument.

There is also full support for MIDI controllers, so foot pedals and keyboards are very well integrated into the mix, and the latency appears to be very low so recording with an external instrument or device should be no problem at all for most users.

Loppy app also has sophisticated audio or visual metronome to keep you in time - no matter what time signature you choose, full stereo audio, with pan controls for each track to create custom stereoscapes with app for musicians, live, dynamic tempo adjustment to speed up or slow down your creations, without altering the pitch. See our best studio recording apps list for the budding recorder in you.

If you want to source your loops from elsewhere then you’ll be pleased to know that you can import them from your computer via iTunes file sharing, with full support for file formats like .AIFF, .WAV, .MP3, .M4A, and many more.

Once your loops or entire performances are complete, you can also share them with the world via SoundCloud, and even Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can share your records by emailing them to others.

Final Words

Loopy HD is a very well featured looper app for iPhone and iPad that I think you’re going to be utterly hooked on if you start using it. It’s also one of the cheaper developments of its kind, but I’ve yet to find any skimping on quality or functionality.
