This is an older app that hasn't been updated in a few years now. The last update took a look at the translation database and made it better. The app only has 2.5 out of five stars from customers so clearly there are areas this app is lacking. Because of no updates, this might not be the best iPhone translation app for users. 

Getting Translations

I think it's important to fully understand this is just the lite version and not to expect a massive database of translations. The full version is where you will find those more than 16,000 words. As mentioned this app works offline so it's very easy to travel with it. Finding words are simple and very quick and you will be able to use the pronunciation guides, see examples of the word being used, and there are inflection guides.

The user interface is certainly dated and dull-looking. Because this is a translation/dictionary based reference app I don’t think the simple user interface is necessarily a con. When you launch the app you are instantly taken to a list of words. Choose to see both the English and Italian word, the English, or just Italian definitions. Use the search bar to find something specific.
