There is no shortage of weather-based apps out there with splashy graphics, high-tech tools, and oodles of information. The Grumpy Weather app isn't one of those. This brand-new release is instead a humorous way to get your weather report that looks completely different to what you're used to. This app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone. There are all kinds of fabulous features in this app, all of which are grumpy. I mean let's face it: the weather isn't always great!

What is great about this app is that it is a departure from your typical weather app. While there is nothing wrong with the traditional model sometimes you’re just looking for something unique and fun, which is where this app comes in. It looks at the weather in a very grumpy light so no matter what the current conditions are, the app can find something negative about it. Of course this negativity comes across in a very hilarious way!

As mentioned this is a brand-new release and even though the app is free there are in-app purchases available. Each of these purchases is priced at $0.99 and is just different characters that will deliver the daily weather to you. Each of these characters also has its own personality and is grumpy in its own way.

 

Getting the Weather

This app isn't just for fun; you can actually get your weather details from it. It gives you a three-day weather forecast using Open WeatherMap. You will notice the weather details are kept at a minimum so you aren’t bogged down by data that really doesn’t even matter to you. Everything about this app feels fresh, cute, and hilarious. It’s actually difficult to show some of the screenshots for this app as some of them use pretty colorful language.

The app is able to automatically detect your location to give you accurate weather details. The home screen gives you the time, the current temperature, a graphic of the conditions, and a funny line. Swipe the screen to the left in order to view the three-day forecast. As far as the details go you will just see the day’s high and low temperatures, and a graphic that shows the conditions (cloudy, sunny, raining). It is very basic with no elaboration whatsoever.

Final Words

The Grumpy Weather app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone as a really fun yet grumpy way to stay on top of the current conditions. I’m not sure I’d choose this one as my primary weather app but it certainly will give you a laugh.
