jajajajan app review: education with a musical twist

Reviews

Introduction

What is one of the easiest ways to capture the attention of young children when you are trying to teach them something? Why, music of course! This is exactly the route that the jajajajan app takes. This education app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and gives young kids a chance to read, watch, and listen to some very cute animated stories as well as songs. There are a number of different elements here that are enjoyable for kids and can leave parents with that warm fuzzy feeling knowing this is the kind of app that actually has an educational spin to it.

A World of Fun

When kids launch this app they will in fact be launching a world of fun. As mentioned this app lets kids listen, read, and watch animated stories and the songs really help to capture their interest. The app is meant for kids up to six years of age, with younger ones needing the help of parents and older ones likely able to use it on their own. In total the app gives you seven free stories/songs to enjoy with the kids and a variety of songs complete with cute and fun dances for kids to learn.

Although the app is free to download there are some additional in-app purchases available that range in price from $1.99 to $9.99. Each of these purchases is additional stories. The app currently doesn't have a customer rating or comments. In its most recent updates there were some changes made to the story images and other features.

What the App Offers

As mentioned you are given seven free elements in this app, which are four stories: The Little Match Seller, Kasajizou, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Three Little Pigs. I like that these stories and songs are all quite different from each other so that you feel as though you’re really getting a good mix that will appeal to all different kids. Launch the app to view the full menu of available songs and stories but remember many of these are not free.

The user interface is definitely built with kids in mind and is kid-friendly; however, I do find that some of the screens aren’t very responsive, causing you to tap a few times on your selection. The graphics, sound effects, and content are all really fun. It’s actually quite an impressive offering especially considering how much you get for free.
