Learnist app review: a crowdsourcing platform for knowledge sharing
Introduction
"Knowledge is power" is a very famous quote from Sir Francis Bacon. There is definitely truth in this, as knowledge and wisdom is what evolves us as a human being to a better person, as well as a more respected person in our society. There are plenty good apps in the App Sore that can help you learn new skills, but most of these are very limited to one subject. Luckily, there now is a way to increase your knowledge about almost everything, all of it from a single app. Learnist by the company of the same way is a new crowdsourced knowledge sharing app that allows you to create and share all kinds of knowledge. The app is designed for iPhone, but works perfectly on iPad too.
How does the app work?
The app is basically a huge collection of knowledge. All of this knowledge is available from the main screen, with on top the most popular things to learn, and below the latest additions to the app. Further, there are the essentials, which are chosen by the developers, and recommended boards. From there on down there are all the different categories, 17 in total, which range from how-to’s to sports and to technology. The only thing you need to do is share some details with the app via Facebook or Twitter, or by simply sharing your email address and full name. Without this you will not get access to the app, not even to try it out before you commit.
What's new
App Design and Sharing Options
The design of the app is simply fantastic. Everything seems to be designed with one thing in mind: teaching you all kinds of things without you even lifting more than one finger. When you find something within the app that you feel some of your friends should know about, you can simply press the sharing button that allows you to post a link on Facebook or Twitter. You can also drop the link in an email or a text message to reach those people that aren’t on social networks, and share the knowledge in a more classic way.

Pros and Cons
Pros
-
So much content that you won’t stop learning
-
Very nice interface
Cons
-
I’m not sure how to create your own content
-
Log in needed before you can use the app
Conclusion
I have learned a lot already simply by reviewing the Learnist app. There are a lot of people who will be put off by the fact you have to log in first before you get access to all the knowledge in this app, but this shouldn’t be a problem as this app is definitely legit. I wish you could create your own content via the app, as now it’s a bit unclear on how this is done. The app is designed for iPhone, but works fine on iPad as well. The app is just over 10 MB.
