Yahoo! Sports Beyond Gold 2012 App ReviewYahoo! Sports Beyond Gold 2012 Rank: #97 on the Top 100 Free iPad Apps List as of July 28th For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad Now is the perfect time, or at least for the next few days, to experience the Olympics on your iPhone or iPad. No matter where you are around the globe, you will get direct live coverage from Yahoo! Sports of the latest medals, scores, rankings, medal counts and more. This is really simple app to use with just a few different display screens, all of which present all the latest info. The homepage lists “right now,” the “exclusives,” “sport,” “photo’s,” and “schedules” in a two-by-three grid layout. From there just tap any of the six buttons and “right now” for example will give you all the latest info on current events, or the “sports” button, which lists each individual sport in detail. Overall this app gets 3.5 out of a 5 star rating, which is fairly decent. Only of real interest for app users for the next few days, this Olympics app for 2012 is obviously free and what little complaints you may have right now, will probably see little if no resolution or fix, based purely on the Olympics time frame. Yahoo! Sports Beyond Gold 2012 App Review You get absolutely exclusive sports content by Yahoo!, which may mean that this app may have some future shelf life, plus deep coverage of what’s going on around the Olympic village. The only negatives to speak of are reflected by users who suggest the programming is a tad clunky and feel that there are far too many little annoyances suggesting Yahoo! may have put this together at the last minute. Such defaults include not listing a full schedule of the events such as the marathon, and the fact that there is not a “search” function, which makes it time consuming, plus the odd freeze or crash to speak of.
