WhoSampled app review: discover amazing things about the music you love 2021

Reviews

Introduction

Making a wonderfully unique mark in the Music category of the App Store is this very cool iPhone and iPad music discovery app that enables you to scan your iTunes Music Library and discover amazing connections for some of your favorite tracks.

The best iPhone and iPad apps for musicians

This is a very novel concept for an iPhone music discovery app which I think is just fantastic. So much mainstream pop and electronic-based music is rehashed over and over again with different samples and remixes being presented as new material, and this app definitely serves to illustrate that perfectly.

I’m not particularly against the reuse of musical phrases and motifs if they work well with a new piece, but WhoSampled definitely offers a unique insight into just how intricately related much of the music industry is, in terms of personnel, styles, and of course, samples used.
