HBO GO is an app for iOS devices that allows anyone with a valid subscription to HBO services via their cable providers to experience their favorite elements of HBO on their mobile devices. Upon launching HBO GO, a grid of live tiles appears on the screen allowing selections of featured shows, movies, specials, etc. This is good eye-candy for those users who appreciate quality animations throughout their apps. On the bottom of the screen are several buttons to specify choices of movies, series, comedy, sports, documentary and late night. When tapped, the layout changes from a grid to a simple cover flow-esque layout showcasing the featured selections of the category chosen. There is also a gear button to specify settings to the user's preference as well as a magnifying glass button to search for specific titles. HBO GO App Review Parents can set parental controls in the settings panel for their children, which is a big plus for HBO. The Watchlist feature allows users to navigate back to the most recently viewed content should he or she navigate away from content viewed. HBO GO utilizes devices like the iPad in a way that the iPad was designed for: consumption of your content. One of the benefits to having HBO GO is the ability to view content that is not available on the HBO cable channel. Even if your favorite movie or show is no longer available on TV, chances are good that you can find the movie or show still available on the HBO GO app.
