Trackbill app review: an app to stay informed with your state's laws and bills

Reviews

Introduction

The United States always baffles me. Since the country is so massive and there are so many states, I find it hard to believe that they can still properly function as a country. Every state has their own laws, legislation and bills and it must be really difficult to manage for the central government, as each state is vastly different to the next. On top of this, these laws, legislation and rules keep changing constantly, and half the time the voters don’t even know what is going on in their own state. Luckily for these people, there is now TrackBill, an app developed to keep track of all the changes in the legislation and bills within your state. This app, developed by Trackbill LLC, is compatible with both iPad and iPhone and is roughly 5 MB.

What does the app have to offer?

When you first start up the app, one of my personal pet peeves is instantly happening. Before you can use the app you will have to register with the company, otherwise there will be no bill tracking whatsoever. After you register, you get to pick a state and start searching for the bill that you would like to track. As a free user of the app, you can track up to 10 bills in one state at a time, so if you want to follow a specific law that might be pushed through in multiple states you’re out of luck. You will receive push notifications when anything changes on these bills.

Since the free version of the app is limited to only 10 notifications per user, you can imagine that there are a few more options available if you’re willing to pay. This is absolutely true, but I will not recommend anyone who isn’t in politics to do this, as it’s hugely expensive. If you would like to have unlimited notifications for one state, it will cost you $499.00 per year, while if you get the same offer but in two states, the price is $999.00, which is funnily enough $1 more! This sounds way to much for me, but if you work in politics and you can claim it back, it can be a great tool to be up to date at all times.

Conclusion

If you just want to follow a few bills in your state, I can really recommend this app. If you work in politics and want to be up to date at all times on everything, this app might be the one for you too. As a user who doesn’t live in the states, this app is useless and the subscription models are just way too high. The app is designed for both iPad and iPhone.
