Hello, my name is Wouter and I am a Hearthstone addict. Ever since Blizzard Entertainment, one of the world’s largest suppliers of digital crack unleashed their Hearthstone on the App Store, I have been playing it every day. There must be millions of players in the world by now and I know for a fact that at least half of these are as addicted or more so than myself. In Hearthstone, you get to make your own deck of playing cards to use to battle other players in a simple table top card game. Keeping track of all your cards and decks can be quite a difficult task, but Inova S.p.A. has now released an app that can help you organize and try out all different deck combinations. Deck Master for Hearthstone is available for both iPhone and iPad and is just over 130 MB.

What does the app have to offer?

When you boot up the app you will see the entire decks region is empty. This is where you come in. You simply select your favorite character class and start selecting the cards you would like to have in your deck. You can see if the deck you created is visible with your in game collection, but you will first need to add your whole collection to the game. Additionally, you can see all kinds of collection stats after you have done this, which can help you find out how many cards you will still have to collect or which cards you need to complete your perfect deck.

Layout and Design

The layout of the app is actually pretty well designed. The app gives you a great overview of the cards you have or have yet to collect, while the interface is very easy to use. Little speech bubbles pop up when the app wants to tell you something and this makes learning how to use the app so much easier. The official artwork from the game is implemented, but greyed out as it’s under copyright from Blizzard Entertainment. I would like to see the addition of sound to the app and a feature to import my collection directly from Hearthstone.

There are a few downsides, as you can’t import your collection from the game, nor does the game use any sounds (and the sounds of the game are so fun). The app is made for iPad and iPhone and is just over 130 MB.
