ScoreCloud Express HD app review: play, sing, or whistle any monophonic melody and instantly turn it into music notation 2021

Reviews

Introduction

What we have here is a good app for musicians that enables you to play, sing, or whistle any monophonic melody and instantly turn it into music notation which can edit and arrange in a number of ways before sharing your work with others online.

The best iPhone apps for writing songs-2021

I think the Scorecloud app is a truly fantastic idea for an app, although I do have some doubts as to the overall efficacy with which the Scorecloud app for musicians has been developed because it has been struggling to identify some of the more intricate melodies I’ve thrown at it.

All in all, the Scorecloud singing app isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. It’s also available free of charge so I’d definitely recommend taking it for a spin as it could save you a lot of time that you’d otherwise spend inputting notation manually.

See Your Music Notated Before Your Eyes

ScoreCloud Express HD has been designed with the primary purpose of allowing you to have your musical compositions notated before your very eyes, simply by playing, singing, or whistling monophonic melodies into your device’s microphone.

Best iphone and ipad apps

Once notated, you can edit your music accordingly, and you can also very easily synchronize your songs with ScoreCloud Studio on your computer for further arrangement options; ideal for getting the most out of the functionality that’s on offer.

Share Your Work Online

What’s more, you’ll be pleased to know that once you’ve finished working on your latest composition it can be shared with your friends and family online via SoundCloud, Facebook, Twitter, and email, so be sure to show the world what you’ve been hard at work on!

As I’ve mentioned, I’m a little disappointed by this app’s ability to interpret more complicated music, but it could just be the way I’m using it so I would still recommend giving it a try because you might find that it works just fine for you.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Play, sing, or whistle any monophonic melody and instantly turn it into music notation
  • Edit your music accordingly after it has been notated
  • Share your compositions with others online via SoundCloud, Facebook, Twitter, and email
  • Save your compositions within the app or back them up on the developer’s cloud-based server
  • Save up to four songs in the archive or store unlimited songs with a SoundCloud account
  • Synchronize your songs with ScoreCloud Studio on your computer for further arrangement options
  • Perfect for recording in noisy environments
  • Features fairly impressive interpretation of pitch, time signature, rhythm and meter, and tempo directly from monophonic audio input

Cons

  • I’ve been having a little trouble having this app recognize some of the more complicated or intricate melodies that I’ve challenged it with. I’ve also noticed that ScoreCloud Express HD has received a rather uninspiring rating on the iTunes description page, but considering this is a free app I’d still say it’s well worth trying out
