Animoog app review: Moog Music's first professional polyphonic synthesizer designed exclusively for the iPad

Reviews

Introduction

Introducing Moog Music's first professional polyphonic synthesizer designed exclusively for the iPad! If you’re looking for the ultimate in freedom of expression and dynamic creativity then do yourself a favor and download this app today!

All I can really say about this app is wow! The dynamic freedom offered here is to an extent that I’ve never seen other apps come even remotely close to, even within a similar or slightly lower price range.

You’ve got all kinds of modulation parameters, filters, envelopes, and Lord only knows what else waiting for you to sink your teeth into, so this app definitely receives a very strong recommendation from me!

Nothing Short of Amazing

Animoog includes an amazing Anisotropic Synth Engine which you can use to move dynamically through an X/Y space of unique timbres, including timbres of a wide variety of vintage and modern Moog synthesizers and pedals.

Many modulation parameters can be controlled all at once simply by sliding your finger around the X/Y space. This kind of graphical approach to musicianship is very new to me so I’ve been having an absolute field day coming up with some interesting sounds!

Enjoy Incredible Finger Controls

The finger controls don’t stop there, however, as you can even manipulate the exact pitch of each note in a chord by rotating or sliding your fingers. Moving your fingers in different ways like this enables you to produce some truly unique sounds like you won’t believe.

What’s more, you’ll find Amp, Filter and Mod Envelopes, LFO with infinitely variable wave shapes and sync, Delay and Thick modules, and loads of other goodies that I’ve never even heard of!
