The game is free to download, but to attain various degrees of difficulty you can only go so far before having to purchase one of the in-app levels, which range from $0.99 to $2.99. The objective, therefore, is to turn your own photos into 500 or 1000 different jigsaw pieces, then to either time yourself or just simply take it at your own pace to recreate the image. This would be a great gift for someone if there was a way of sending your favorite picture sliced up to a loved one and then let them piece together the photo which they’ve yet to see – but so far this option doesn’t appear possible. However, there’s no reason why you can’t share one of your creations on your iPad with your partner or whoever. This jigsaw app is available in the following languages: English, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Chinese, and Danish, and is played in portrait view on the iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad. This app is probably best played on the iPad as the interface is that much larger and clearer, plus images really come to life on the new retina display screen. Once you’ve created your jigsaw, piecing it together as you would with hundreds of jigsaw pieces scattered across the iPad will prove challenging and time consuming, but will provide endless fun if you’re an avid fan of jigsaws.
