Dictator: The Political Game app review: for anyone who always wanted to be a dictator
Introduction
It was about time someone made a game about being a dictator, and now developer Aleksey Snida has released Dictator: The Political Game. This game is developed for both iPad and iPhone and weighs in at just under 70 MB.

One of the most wanted things in this world is power. When you have power you can make money, influence people, and control the fate of your own life. Before I get too philosophical about power, power is simple the means to be able to control people. This can be done in many ways, and usually over the backs of other people, as when you have power, it means other people don’t have power over their own lives anymore. The ultimate position of power in this world must be as a dictator, as this means all the people in your country are submitted to your power.
Gameplay
In this game you control every state affair. You will have to make difficult decisions that will either put you in a more powerful position or put several of the factions in your state against you, risking a rebellion. As the dictator you will also have to think about protection, back-up plans and other selfish and important escapes. Will you spend money on making your army stronger, or should you buy a helicopter for when the shit hits the fan? The choice is up to you, but choose wisely as every decision will have effect on how the different factions will perceive you.

Graphics and Sound
The graphics of the game are fantastic, even though they are static and never move. The art style reminds me of the Russian Cold War propaganda, and some of the posters you would expect to see in North Korea or China. The sound of the game is very minimal, just like the lives of your subjects in your dictatorship. All in all the presentation is where this game comes together and you will have a blast seeing how your factions and your people respond to the choices you make in the game. There is a surprise around every corner and the game will throw new things at you at all times.

Conclusion
All in all this game hits the nail right on the head. The game is fun to play, offers a ton of different ways to play and actually makes you care about your choices. The art style in the game is perfect and fits really well with the theme of the game. The sound is where the game drops a beat, but this is not at all a problem. The game is compatible with both iPad and iPhone and is just under the 70 MB.
