By tapping the picture of the animal, the sound the animal makes springs to life out of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. By touching the animal word, the app says the word. That’s it in a nutshell! To unlock all the animal pictures it will set you back $1.99, but with the latest version update which now includes a seagull, seal, whale, wolf,  camel, chicken, cow, donkey, kookaburra, owl, and rooster, it’s probably worth the couple of bucks to gain access to these. Plus whether you’ve updated to paid version or just downloaded the free package, this animal game can then be played offline, so it's a great way to keep your toddler occupied at any time without slowing down your bandwidth. The images are also particularly crystal clear, especially on the new iPad interface in HD, so the pixel quality is large. Expect it to eat up some memory on your device. As part of iTots apps for educating young children, this app gets some really positive reviews averaging 180+ 4.5 star ratings out of 5.
There have been a few bugs reported where Animal Sounds unfortunately isn’t actually making any sounds! Be sure to contact their support line if this happens and obviously don’t pay for the "unlock all features" upgrade just in case you don’t get a response. iTots are normally pretty good when it comes to dealing with bugs and crashes, so by all means test the free version if you feel this type of game is perfect for your little one.
