Epic Adventure - Stickman Edition app review:a simple but violent role playing game featuring stickmen
Introduction
Every time I play a game with the word stickmen in the game I instantly have to think of a developer who is too lazy to actually design characters. In most cases this is true as these stickmen games usually have no character to them at all. Luckily there are a few exceptions, such as some of the more famous sniper games and some other games where you have to kill them off. Developer Huan Tang has also tried to make his game a little bit more charming by giving his stickmen a bit more personality. In Epic Adventure - Stickmen Edition the main character and the enemies had some minor attributes that make them stand out, such as weapons and armor. The game is developed for both iPad and iPhone and it weighs in at just under 15 MB.
Gameplay
There isn’t much gameplay here, which is a shame, as the developer could have made this an actual epic adventure. You simply tap where you want your character to go and in some cases an enemy will appear. Each of these enemies has a different way to beat them, each and every one with a simple swipe or tap; however, this is not really worked out very well. Even though the game shows you what to do for every enemy at the start of the game, you might have to try multiple times for each enemy, as it’s all about timing. You can also pick up different weapons to use which is pretty cool, but I don’t have the feeling this makes the gameplay very different.

Graphics and Sound
One of the main reasons I believe many developers are going for the Stickmen graphics is because they can get away with a lot more violence in the game. Since the game is purely made up out of set pieces, every death, either yours or the enemies is super violent and very scripted. If, like me, you keep dying at the same point you will get bored by seeing the same death every time. The backgrounds of the game have a lot of detail to it, which is very nice for a game with stickmen. The sound is pretty decent too and gives you that real adventure feeling.

Conclusion
For a game that calls itself an Epic Adventure, this game is hugely scripted. There is no exploration whatsoever and as a player you only get one choice. Having said that, the game is pretty violent and has some great backgrounds and epic sound. The game itself can get pretty boring when you get stuck, but all in all it’s a great time waster. The game is designed for both iPad and iPhone and is just about 15 MB.
