It requires a yearly subscription of $19.99, or each individual app is $3.99 to unlock.

Is It Worth It?

Alphabet, Spelling and Phonics ! Literacy and ABC learning and educational games for kids in Preschool and Kindergarten by i Learn With Boing is worth the $3.99 if you don’t have another app that your child enjoys. This app is definitely fun for young children beginning to experiment with letters, letter sounds, and short words, but there are other apps that cost less.

Best iphone and ipad apps

In the free trial, you are able to play with the short words. My girls both enjoy this at ages six and two. My two-year-old we just instruct to match, and she likes to do that. My six-year-old is a little beyond the scope of this app, as she knows her letter sounds, and can spell most of the simple words independently already. She still enjoys the game play though.

If you choose to unlock the app, which I did not based on my other apps already purchased, you get a letter section for matching letter sounds, and a phonics section, which you can also play in two player mode. This is unique, as I have had to devise shared turns to play in two-player mode in my other phonics and reading games. I’ll keep my eye out for more two-player reading games.

 

Do Kids Like It?

Most importantly, do the kids like Alphabet, Spelling and Phonics ! Literacy and ABC learning and educational games for kids in Preschool and Kindergarten by i Learn With Boing? Yes. They like the bright colors, the fun animations, and the simple way that it is presented. They don’t realize that they are learning, which is always the best way. When kids are learning through fun, it doesn’t seem hard or like work. That’s why I love the iPad as a teaching tool.

Literacy and ABC learning and educational games for kids in Preschool and Kindergarten by i Learn With Boing is a fun iPad and iPhone app for beginning readers who are just starting to explore letter sounds, phonics, and short words. It is great for the beginners, but as I said even slightly older kids at six may be too advanced to get much out of this app. My two-year-old, however, would get many hours of learning from this app.
