French English Dictionary Free app review: one of the best free dictionaries in the App Store
Introduction
There are a lot of free language dictionaries in the App Store, but none of them are coming close to the greatness that French English Dictionary Free by Bravolol Entertainment has to offer. This app is for both iPad and iPhone, and more importantly, it’s completely available offline. The dictionary is very well-designed and so easy to use you won’t have to ever worry you will get stuck or lost. The dictionary only offers simple word-to-word translations but is perfect for someone who speaks both languages and just needs it to up their vocabulary, or for people who don’t speak a word of French and need to travel to a French-speaking country. The app is just over 25 MB, making this an app that is not to be missed for anyone who has need for a simple translation tool.

What it Offers
The main and only functionality of the app is the translation of one word to French. The beauty of the app is that it also works the other way, without switching between the two languages. The app will simply know which language you’re typing in and if a word exists in both languages it shows you the two different meanings with explanations in both languages. Simply tap the word you want to translate and in the main pane of the app you will get all the different meanings and uses that a word can have. Sometimes a word will show up multiple times, meaning it has many different uses and meanings.

Other features
The app doesn’t just translate. It can also speak the words out loud for you so you can get help pronouncing it when in need. This also doubles as a great way to improve your French pronunciation as the app does this spot-on. You will need to be connected to the Internet for this, though a 3G connection will definitely suffice. Of course you can also share all the necessary dictionary entries on all your social networks and this is all implemented well. These functions are accessible on every page and you won’t need to jump through hoops.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Fantastic design and available offline
- Share all your favorite words
- Easy to use and no switching languages
Cons
- I have nothing bad to say about this app
Conclusion
This is by far the best dictionary app I have seen in a long while. The only thing that would be better is if it had more languages that English and French, so you could switch languages on the fly. The design of the app is outstanding and so easy to use it’s easier than an actual dictionary. The app is only just over 26 MB and is available offline. The app is designed for both iPad and iPhone so you never need to be without.
