Legend of Tell app review: meet Switzerland's greatest hero

Introduction

Have you ever wanted to step into the shoes of a great hero and see what exactly makes them so? The Legend of Tell app can be played on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and allows you to play as William Tell, who is the fictional greatest hero in all of Switzerland. This hero needs to jump, run, shoot his crossbow at enemies, and slay invaders. Once in a while he even will need to stop for a snack! There are 21 levels to play through and three different game types.

Destroy the Enemies and Protect Switzerland

It's up to you - or William Tell, shall we say - to defend Switzerland against the onslaught of enemies also known as the Habsburgs. You'll need to use your crossbow and your super hero strength and smarts in order to succeed. As mentioned there are three different game types, 21 levels of gameplay, and plenty of impressive graphics and excitement. You'll need to be quick, smart, and very precise in order to use your crossbow to your advantage. It seems there is never a shortage of enemies as you make your way through the wilderness, forests, and villages. You will work to unlock hidden features and if you finish the level in "expert time" you will be awarded with a bonus level.

In the app's most recent update, new levels were added for even more fun and there were a number of enhancements made. The app currently has 4.5 out of five stars from users who make comments on the fabulous quality graphics, sounds, and music.

Absolutely beautiful graphics

Smooth and Challenging Gameplay

Of course it’s all about the gameplay here and you can expect a smooth and challenging experience. The moment you launch the app the word “wow” is likely to fall from your mouth. The music could not possibly be more high-energy and then you enter the menu which is actually a stunning looking map filled with details and incredible color. You need to clear each level before you can move on to the next, which can be challenging.

I love that typically Swiss products are what William Tell needs, such as cheese to replenish him and chocolate to give him more speed. The game controls are smooth and simple to use and you’ll find that your character responds incredibly well. The graphics continue to be stunning throughout the levels and it really ends up being an immersive experience.
