XBEATS app review: solve this musical puzzle
Introduction
Instead of a typical puzzle game, we've got a puzzle game that was built with all things music in mind. The XBEATS app can be played on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and allows you to use all your musical knowledge to solve a variety of puzzles. It's all about music theory here, which can be quite challenging. The game controls are simple and smooth but this one can still leave you plenty stumped. If you're ready to take on the more than 40 levels of challenges then you are ready to launch this app.

Test Your Music Theory Knowledge
It's time to test your musical theory knowledge with this fun music puzzle game. You will be working to put all the tiles into their proper spot on the grid by dragging them and dropping them into place. You will want to use as little moves as possible in this game, which of course adds to the challenge. Now if you're sitting there thinking you're not a music pro, don't worry because you can still play the game. There is no need to have musical knowledge because you will be able to use the hints to help out.

The Gameplay Experience
As mentioned you are given more than 40 levels to enjoy and solve. There are a variety of game boards which are 2 x 2, 3 x 3, and 4 x 4. If you happen to solve all of the levels, first off congratulations, but if you hit that mark there is a challenges mode that will be unlocked, which features more than 20 additional puzzles. These are much more difficult than the first 40 levels you completed.

You will find the game board is very simple and sleek so that the focus is on solving the puzzle without a lot happening all around it and distracting you. At the bottom of the screen is your undo button and hints available to you. You can pause the game if needed, and in the top right-hand corner of the screen you will see how many moves you have left. What's cool is that as you play you will be learning about music theory.
