Don't let the title of this review fool you into thinking this is your everyday educational app for kids. The Color Tale Lite app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and has the goal of teaching kids what happens when you mix colors, but it's got a whole lot more going for it. The app actually has a cute and entertaining storyline that manages to capture the attention of kids and keeps their attention so they can get the most from this learning experience as possible. The app description states it's for kids ages four and older but younger ones can also use it and learn from it.

Here’s a way to keep your young child entertained while providing an educational aspect. This app teaches kids all about colors and what happens when you mix them. It is meant to help with their logic skills and their hand-eye coordination as well as early literacy. While all of these skills sound pretty technical thanks to the way this app is presented kids won’t even realize they are busy learning because they will be having fun.

This is still a fairly new release and with that said it doesn't yet have any updates or a customer rating, but it does have customer comments. Parents have been quite complimentary with their comments as it seems it keeps the kids happy, busy, and learning.

The app approaches learning through a 3D interactive color book, a fairytale, and rhymed songs. The narration uses music to appeal to kids that extra bit more. They will be painting and drawing their very own creative scenes. The game features 11 magical and interesting worlds, more than 15 characters, and they will learn about mixing two, three, four, and more colors. It is interactive in that they can mix the colors themselves to see what happens.

From the moment you launch this app kids will be intrigued with the fabulous graphics and colors. The only problem with this app is you may have a hard time convincing kids to put it down. In fact the storyline is five hours in length so obviously this is plenty of play time for kids. For me the characters are some of the best parts of this app such as the wicked witches, the artist, the cute little dog, the artist's best friend, and a whole lot more.
