Gaudi Bruno app review: well-designed children’s e-book

Reviews

Introduction

Gaudi Bruno by Tales Factory Sas Di E.colo is a story book for the younger kids and is available for iPad only. In the few years since I have been an uncle, I have been a lot more careful about what I consume in terms of entertainment when those little rascals are around. You will have to watch your words and be careful with anything you do, as you don’t want to set a bad example. The same goes for eBooks on the App Store, as I have reviewed plenty of them that I would simply never give to my nephews, just because I don’t think the books were suitable for children of that age. The opposite is true for Gaudi Bruno. I would recommend this eBook to both my brothers to have my nephews read, listen to, and play around with this fantastic product. Gaudi Bruno is available for iPad only and weighs in at just over 50 MB.

What it Offers

This app is definitely kind of bare boned in its features. There aren’t any games to play and there is little-to-no animation or interactivity to be spotted. The true beauty of this app lie in its story and the fantastic graphics. The book looks like its hand-drawn by the best artists and the story holds a great lesson about growing up in nature. The story is quite long as well, with a ton of pages, so don’t expect your child to be bored after a few minutes. If you get all the way to the ending, expect a creepy little twist to the story, but kids will only think it’s funny.

Sound and Easter Eggs

The sound of the narrator and the app itself is great too, and as with the graphics the developer didn’t make any cuts on this. Your child will be able to listen to the narrator or read himself while there is also an auto play mode. Lastly, there are over 50 animations hidden in the app, hidden as Easter eggs throughout the story. These will trigger a short animation and are quite fun for your kids to find. Some of them are really well-hidden, so they might want to read the story twice!

Conclusion

If you have children between four and eight, definitely get this story book for them. It can provide great practice for a child that just starts to read, while it will keep your younger children busy for a long time. The graphics and sound of this app are both sublime and you should download the app solely for that. The story is quite long too and has Easter eggs hidden on some of the pages. The app is compatible for only iPad and is just over 50 MB. Get this app now!
