My Life as a Refugee app review

Reviews

My Life as a Refugee app reviewMy Life as a Refugee Price: Free For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad The My Life as a Refugee app, by Artifex Creative Webnet Ltd, is based on the true-life stories of individuals and families who suffered persecution or other conflict. The point of the app is to raise awareness and spread the word so that people can know what it’s like to live like this. The app makes you think as if it’s your family who’s in the situation, so you have to plan accordingly. My Life as a Refugee makes you think as if it’s your own family fleeing for your lives. You have to plan ahead and make decisions that will affect whether you will survive. You have to survive the conflict, get to a safe place, re-unite with your loved ones, and move try to build a new life in a new country. Sound easy? It’s not. The app pulls no punches; this isn’t a “game” for the light-hearted. At the moment, you can play one of three characters: Amika, Paulo, or Merita, whose lives have been turned upside down with conflict and need to flee either armed conflict or persecution. The UN refugee agency UNHCR developed the app and intended it to be both an educational tool and one to help raise awareness (and one would assume, funds) for refugees. My Life as a Refugee app review The app was last updated to Version 1.1 on July 3, 2012. This update made a minor bug fix and changed the file size to 35mB to allow for faster downloads. The stories may now be played in full, at the same time. My Life as a Refugee is rated 9+ for Infrequent/Mild Mature/Suggestive Themes, Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence/Mild Horror/Fear Themes. The current version is rated by customers at 4.5 stars over 30 ratings and enjoys a 4.5 out of five stars in 39 ratings across all versions. Customer feedback is positive.
