MobileBooks app review: mobile money management

Reviews

Introduction

MobileBooks is a very good iPhone and iPad for those of you who run a store or manage any kind of product inventory, but it is very expensive so you might want to compare it with some other apps before making your final purchase.

It always disappoints me when I come across an app that really delivers on the functionality front but then lets users down by being, for want of a better word, obscenely overpriced!

MobileBooks is one such example of this kind of an app, but the small business owners amongst you might still want to consider it if you really like the look of it because it does work fairly well.

Manage Stocks, Customers, and More

This app is very useful for owners or managers of small businesses as it enables you to create invoices, receipts, and other financial statements all from a single interface. There is also a Finances section that you can use to track your personal and professional purchases and budgets.

With MobileBooks for iOS you can log your stock inventory and edit the entries on a fly, but it also doubles up as a customer or client management system with the added bonus of enabling you to import customer information directly from your iOS device's native Contacts list.

Email Reports to Others

If you frequently have to send out invoices or receipts to your customers then you’ll be pleased to know that MobileBooks also allows you to share paperwork with others online via email; this is also useful for sending sales reports to your superiors or accountant if necessary.

The only major issue I see with this app besides the high price is that some users have reported intermittent crashing associated with previewing paperwork, so again I would urge you to see what else is available before downloading MobileBooks.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Create invoices, receipts, and other financial statements from a single interface
  • Use the Finances section to track your personal and professional purchases and budgets
  • Create an inventory of your products with easy editing and more
  • Import customer information directly from your iOS device's native Contacts list
  • Easily share your paperwork with others online via email
  • Add further entries and notes to keep track of individual customer specifications

Cons

  • I personally think that this app is far too expensive given its overall scope and presentation, and would suggest a more appropriate price of around $2.99 - $4.99
  • One user has left a complaint on the iTunes description page regarding crashes being experienced when trying to view previews of emails and invoices; ordinarily I wouldn’t look at this as being a huge issue but considering how expensive MobileBooks is I would have expected more from the developers

Final Words

MobileBooks could definitely do with a price reduction, so one last time I’ll emphasize that you should do your homework and check out some other iPhone and iPad apps in the Finance category of the App Store before purchasing this one.
