In Case Of Crisis app review

Reviews

Introduction

In Case Of Crisis – Education is an app developed for iPhone and iPad by IBA, Inc. that focuses purely on all the different crisis plans from all the schools and higher education platforms in the United States. The app simply offers a solution for all kind of crises, simply by sharing all the different crisis plans from institutions all over the United States. Not only does the app offer all this information, you can also create a full crisis plan yourself easily, allowing you to upload it to the system so everyone else can access and see your plans, such as students, parents and anyone else. The app weighs in at just about 5 MB and an Internet connection is required to access all the different plans.

What it Offers

This  safety app offers so much information you will never be able to access it all, let alone download it to your device. You will have to go with one point of reference and start working from there. You can, however, set up your own crisis plan which is so easy to do that it will only take you a few minutes. You simply need all the emergency information that you would normally keep in an information booklet. The app even allows you to add emergency routes on a Google Maps map so your students and staff will always know where to run to in case of danger or emergencies.

App Design

As mentioned before, the app is really well-designed. Seeing this is a governmental app and probably really underfunded, the designers of the app made a really good effort on creating the crisis plan creator and the information access capabilities, making this an outstanding app in terms of design. I just wished that the content you need to download from the server was compressed in any way or form, as currently downloading any other plans can take forever, and I see it happening that people will try to do this during an emergency, making it not ideal for anyone to download a huge plan.

Conclusion

I think In Case Of Crisis is a hugely beneficial app for any school to use, simply as when it’s used correctly, it will be able to save lives. The important point here is that all users will need to download your crisis plan before the actual crisis happens, which I can see going wrong on a few occasions. This app should be mainly used for staff, while you should still make this information available in booklets or boards. The app works with both iPad and iPhone and is less than 4 MB.
