Reviews

Peekaboo Trick or Treat with Ed Emberley app reviewPeekaboo Trick or Treat with Ed Emberley Price: $1.99 For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 5.0 or later The Peekaboo Trick or Treat with Ed Emberley app by Night & Day Studios, Inc. is a Halloween app for kids. It’s a kid’s story combined with great artwork. This Halloween, let your kid go trick or treating at the Peekaboo funhouse. Don’t worry about your child being too scared, though: this story isn’t that scary. The artwork by Ed Emberley is fantastic and has a great. Choose to have the story narrated by the artist Ed Emberley himself or by a cute sounding four-year old. Just be aware that the pronunciation isn’t correct on all words when read by the child. The app has 14 creatures that pop out to amuse and delight your child and you. There is a ghost who has some seriously fine dance moves, a nice fire-breathing dragon, and a puppy dressed up like a princess, among others. The creatures aren’t too scary, so even the younger kids will enjoy this app. Peekaboo Trick or Treat with Ed Emberley has silly sound effects and spooky, original Halloween-themed music . The words for each item are repeated and shown so your young readers will better learn to say and/or spell the names of things. There is a rotating crew of 14 characters to delight your child.
Peekaboo Trick or Treat with Ed Emberley app review You can pick storybook mode or looped mode. Storybook mode has the characters going to bed at the end, while looped mode offers endless play. Developer notes in the iTunes description says they plan on adding a Record Your Own Voice feature in the future. The app was updated to Version 1.1 on October 19, 2012. The update fixed crashes on the ending scene and on the bats. All versions have 29 ratings with an average of 3.5 out of five stars. The current version has six ratings with an average of three stars. There is only one reader feedback comment, where the user says his three-year old child loves it and it has no problems. We'd give this app more than three stars, for sure!
