Be Prepared!

Weather Run allows you to be prepared for your next outdoor fitness adventure. Whether you are going for a walk, run, hike, or bike ride, you will easily see your weather forecast, and can then track your movement using your phone’s internal GPS. The app is able to pair with your Pebble watch, connect with a heart rate monitor, or your SensorTag.

This app is great for anyone who is technology geared towards fitness. If you love to track all of your workouts with your device, then this app was created for you. Once you’ve gone on a few treks, you can see your routes on the maps.

Personalize

In addition to all of the technology that Weather Run can synchronize with, there are several personalization options. You can turn on Speed Paw for your bike and audio cues for your running, change the accuracy of your GPS to preserve battery life, and even choose between NOOA or OpenWeather for your forecast. If you don’t live in the U.S. you can set the measurements to metric, or you can change the movement from speed to pace.

Under profile you can set your weight and age, but this doesn’t do much because it does not have a field for height. I had assumed that it was attempting to track your BMI, but without a height measurement it doesn’t do a lot.

Final Thoughts

Weather Run: Cycling, Walk, Hike Tracker, Altimeter, logger with Pebble Watch, Heart Rate monitor & M7 Motion Steps is an iPhone app that allows you to track your routes with the GPS after checking your weather for a good run. It’s great to know that it’s not too hot, too wet, or whatever your preferences are. Personally, I prefer to run at dusk so that it is getting cooler, and if it’s raining a bit then all the better! You know your preferences though, and if you are going on a family hike, then you’ll definitely want a dry trek. As far as the additional support options go, you can pair it with a lot of different technologies, and this is great. I would love it though if there was a way for the iPhone itself to do the additional reads, or simply have the additional devices cost less. Overall, this is a great app though, so if you are looking for a basic cardio tracker, this will do the trick.
