PowerCam app review
PowerCam
Price: Free
For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 4.3 or later
The PowerCam app by Wondershare Software Co., Ltd is, as they say, “A million shades of fun.”
The app has been named “App of the Week” by the Apple App Store, the #1 Photo/Video category in almost 100 countries, and “Staff Favorites” at the Apple App Store. It was downloaded by over a million people in the first week after it was uploaded to the App Store, and there were over 30 million downloads in the first six months.
If you’re bored with regular photos that you take with your iOS device, then you’ll absolutely love PowerCam. It has so many features you’ll be amazed that this is a free app. It has more than 60 effects like Retro, Vintage, and LomoCyan. It has an additional 60+ fun effects like Picture-in-Picture, Super Chin, and Sketch. You can also buy the Creative Pack for $1.99 from within the app, which gives you advanced effects like Tilt Shift and Panorama as well as Color Splash.
There’s a built-in timer called FaceTimer so you can take cool pictures of yourself.
You can add effects to any photo you take within the app, or, if you make an in-app purchase, to all photos in your Camera Roll. You can add cool frames or make a collage. You can also share to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, or with email. Upload entire videos to any social site as well (not just clips).
The app was updated to Version 2.0.7 on October 19, 2012. This version updated the UI and added a new effect. It is rated for kids four and older. There are a total of 2568 ratings with an average of four out of five stars. The current version has 32 ratings with an average of four out of five stars. Customer feedback is positive with some concern about the front cam being always zoomed, but that might be an individual issue since no one else has complained.
