iPoe by Play Creatividad is an amazing app that will bring Edgar Allan Poe to you as you’ve never seen him before. It’s free today thanks to AppGratis, so get it while you can!

iPoe Vol. 1 was voted the #1 Book app in many countries.

When it came to writing, Poe was ahead of his time. He was able to strike terror and gloom into the cheeriest of readers. The gloomy, terrifying feelings persist to this day.

If you’re a fan of Poe, or want to experience his stories in a way you never have before, then you need to download this app. You’ll get an immersive experience combining an original soundtrack, easily-read text, and animations that will bring each story to fearsome life.

This volume gives you The Oval Portrait, The Tell-Tale Heart, Annabel Lee, and The Masque of the Red Death.

Text is available in English, French, and Spanish. You get interactive elements, Retina display graphics, and Poe’s biography. Turn your device to portrait view to read the story; turn it to landscape view to access the menu.

iPoe was updated to Version 2.5 on January 10, 2013. The update made some minor bug fixes and added Spanish translations. The current version has 384 customer ratings with an average of five out of five stars. Feedback comments are very positive.

I love Edgar Allan Poe and I adore this app.  The Tell-Tale Heart is my second-favorite of his and this version absolutely floored me with terror. If you’re a fan, a student, or a teacher, check this out.
