messenger for facebook is an app that works outside of Facebook and lets you chat with your friends without leaving your news feed on your Facebook. You simply flip back and forth when you receive a new message. All of your Facebook contacts are automatically added once you log in with your Facebook username.
The app has a simple yet intuitive interface with all your contacts listed down the one side and your current conversation on the right. The layout is optimized for the large, beautiful screen on the iPad making your conversation bright and easy to read. You can still use all of your emoticons and you can send and receive pictures right from the app.

I use this app almost entirely now for messaging over Facebook. The Facebook app itself is nice but this removes the whole clutter of the news feed and such.
