Note taking on the iPad is less than glorious even with the split keyboard. That can all be remedied, however, with the use of UPAD. UPAD lets you take notes using your handwriting to take your notes and even includes a hand rest feature that lets you place your hand on the display as if it were a real piece of paper without affecting gestures.

With UPAD you can create simple PDF annotations, write quick notes using a variety of selectable pens, and easily edit your work. There are more than 30 styles and colors of pens to choose from so you can create bright and colorful work or highlight certain text in different colors. UPAD will even let you open PDF files for editing from your email and write on them as though they were paper.

You can import images and shapes into your documents to help add style or for reference. The possibilities are limitless. When you are done writing your notes you can easily share them with your friends, family, and co-workers.

UPAD was last updated to Version 2.11 on January 24, 2013 and included fixes for several different problems. There have been 102 ratings for this app with an average score of 4.5 stars out of five.

I like the simplicity of this app but that it retains the ability to create some seriously complex notes with complete images and more. This is definitely one of the top notch note apps on the market currently.
