uChek app review: analyze your urine

Reviews

uChek

Price: Free

uChek by Biosense Technologies Pvt Ltd. is a medical app meant to be used with the uChek kit on your iOS device to perform urinalysis.

This is an app that will analyze your urine to check for ketones, urobilinogen, leukocytes, bilirubin, glucose, specific gravity, protein, nitrite, pH, and blood. Results can help you determine liver and kidney function, carbohydrate metabolism, bacteruria, and acid-base balance, among others. It can help diagnose diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and other potential health problems.
If you don’t have the uCkeck kit, you can use conventional urine strips and do manual urinalysis; with the uChek kit the analysis is automated.

Basically, you can use the app, along with the uChek test strips, to tell you the result, log the test data, and record the test strip result. This can be used to send the data to your healthcare provider and to analyze a trend over time. If you use regular test strips, you can still log the info but you have to do it manually and the app helps you inspect the strips to determine the results.

This app makes sure the data is secure on your iOS device, it’s portable, it’s cost-effective, and you don’t need another power source.

uChek was released at the end of April, 2013. The app does not yet have enough ratings for iTunes to display an average.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 5.1 or later. uChek is optimized for iPhone 5.
