Anonymous Sober Chat for Alcoholics & Addiction

Price: $0.99

Anonymous Sober Chat for Alcoholics & Addiction by Pitashi! Mobile Imagination is designed to help people stop doing drugs, drinking, or other self-destructive behavior. It was updated on May 16, 2013 and is available in English only. It takes only 9.1MB of storage space.

User Experience
The app is easy to use and is designed for anyone who needs it: those in the AA program, those who want help with the 12-step program, and those who aren’t sure that they’re an addict or alcoholic but want to get help.

It will help people who don’t have meetings nearby to attend, for those looking for a sponsor, or for people who just need to talk with someone who will understand what you’re going through. It’s also great for people who have time to help others.

Hundreds of people sign up every day and there is no registration required. It’s completely anonymous, which may ease people’s misgivings about talking to strangers online about personal issues. To sign up, all you have to input is your first name and last initial.

The app is there for anyone: it doesn’t matter where you live, how long you’ve been sober; use it to help you stay sober and in turn, you just might help someone else stay sober, too!

Features
It’s easy to join, easy to use, and totally anonymous. You can private message other users, join open groups based on location or topic, and adjust your settings so you get notified when groups are active.

More than 10,000 people use the app every day so you’re bound to find an individual to talk to or a group to join.

Talk with members of the CA, AA, NA, and other 12-step programs in real-time.

The app is safe and secure, and there are people to talk 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In-App Purchases
The app has a few in-app purchases: unlimited direct messaging and photo sharing costs $2.99, and then there are a variety of badges, each for $0.99. The developers ask that people who can afford it buy a couple badges a month to help support the community.

Update Info
Anonymous Sober Chat for Alcoholics & Addictions is currently running on Version 1.3.2. The update added new groups and badges, new screenshots, and made minor bug fixes and user experience improvements.
