Mushroomers

Price: Free

For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 4.3 or later

Mushroomers by Vigr Games Inc. is a mushroom-picking simulator app.

In Europe and elsewhere, it’s very popular to go out and pick wild mushrooms. Both country and city folk take to the forests on the “quiet hunt” for the elusive fungi. It gives them a chance to get away from the stress and business of their regular lives and allows them to focus on the task at hand: gathering mushrooms. This is both a hobby and a way to help supplement the food supply for families.

Mushroomers gives you 30 different locations in which you can choose to “hunt,” each with different types of mushrooms available to find. You can compete with friends and even against people all over the world since the app is integrated with Game Center. There are different rankings and 40 achievements for you to gain.

There are eight baskets with dozens of artifacts to collect, and a kitchen with seven different types of equipment for you to use to prepare the mushrooms to eat. There are also upgrades available for these. There are 210 recipes for mushroom preparation.

The app was updated to Version 1.1 on November 21, 2012. The update fixed some minor bugs. Mushroomers is available in English, Dutch, Polish, German, and Russian. It has 77 ratings with an average of four out of five stars. Customer feedback comments are positive.
