Alphabet Connection

Price: Free

For: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later

Alphabet Connection by Noisy Typing is a fun puzzle app that will keep you occupied for hours.

The gameplay is simple: all you have to do is connect the matching letters by dragging your finger from one to the other, following the squares. Match up all the letters and make sure all of the squares on the board are filled. That’s all. Sound simple?

The game features an ambient soundtrack and retro graphics.

When you load the app, you’ll get a free pack. This gives you 30 levels within three difficulties: Easy (5x6), Medium (8x10), and Hard (10x13). You can also buy a Brainiac Pack and a Genius Pack using in-app purchases. You can also buy extra hints.

All of the levels are generated each time you open the app, by an algorithm that mixes randomness and rules to constantly create different variations. This guarantees that you can play the game for pretty much forever without playing the same board twice.Alphabet Connection app review

The app was updated to Version 1.1 on November 15, 2012. The update added Game Center Achievements so you can challenge your friends, and multiple hints per level in case you get stuck. The app is available in English only. It currently has a total of 26 ratings with an average of five out of five stars.

If you like challenge puzzles, but have never tried this style of game, go ahead and give it a try. Even if you only ever use the free version, you’ll enjoy it immensely while you challenge your brain.
