Subway Surfers app review: hours of endless fun-2020

Reviews

Introduction

There are so many endless runner apps in the App Store that it’s hard to keep track of them all, but there’s probably one that rises above all the rest. The Subway Surfers app is the king of the hill. This endless running app makes a bold statement, I know, but if you give it a try you’ll see what I mean.

The best games for the iPhone-2021

In this endless runner app you need to help Jake, Tricky & Fresh to escape from the grumpy Inspector and his dog. Colorful vivid HD graphics and hoverboard surfing makes this subway surfers app one of the most enjoyable games in its niche.

From pogo sticks to super sneakers, this game is just plain fun! It’s available for the iPhone, iPad, and the iPod so if you own any of the popular Apple platforms you’re in luck. Best of all, it’s free to download. So, check out our Subway Surfers review and take a look at our best endless running apps list for more great options.

Surf the Subways of the World

Subway Surfers is non-stop action from start to finish. If you’ve played any of the endless runners available in the App Store you’ll be up and running without much of a learning curve. For those not familiar with these type of games they’re pretty simple to play: you swipe left and right to avoid obstacles, and if that doesn’t work you can always jump over them or slide under them.

Where this game excels is in the little details. Collect your coins, avoid the subway policeman and his dog, and don’t forget to keep on running! The trains are the main obstacles in your way, but you’ll have to avoid the construction barriers and train platforms as well. There really is a lot going on here so you’ll need to keep your wits about you.

Gameplay

The objective is to collect as many coins as you can and stay alive as long as possible. There are a few items you can collect along the way that will make your life a little easier. You can collect keys to give yourself extra lives, which is pretty cool, but probably one of the coolest features is the hovering surfboard.

Anyone remember Back to the Future II? Other items include super sneakers, pogo sticks, and jet packs which will fly you over the telephone wires out of the reach of the trains. Do we still have those (telephone wires)?

You can use the coins you collect to purchase these items at the end of each game, or you can give yourself a little extra advantage by obtaining them through in-app purchases as well. At 71.3 MB it won’t take up too much of your devices available space. The developer also updates the cities on a fairly regular basis, so if you find yourself getting tired of surfing the rails in Rio keep checking the App Store for updates; before you know it you’ll be surfing along in London!

Right now, I’m touring the train yards in Miami. If you want to spice things up a little more, you can log in to Facebook and compete against your friends as well. There aren’t too many drawbacks, but it can be a little slow to load at times, and it does have some of those annoying pop-ups asking you to purchase other App store games on the opening screen.
