Aviation Abbreviation app review
Aviation Abbreviation
Price: $2.99
For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 2.0 or later
December 7 is International Aviation Day. What are you doing to celebrate? If you’re flying anywhere in the next few weeks, or work (or hope to work) in the aviation industry, you’ll find this app useful.
Aviation Abbreviation by Palawin Yosintra is a handy app that offers the definitions of more than 8000 aviation terms.
This app would be useful for anyone working in the aviation industry, students looking to get into the industry, or just hobbyists. These abbreviations may be seen in TELEX, NOTAM, Charts, NOTOC, and Weather report. It can be very difficult to remember all of these abbreviations so having this app can save you time and make you better at your job or studies.
The developer promises that upcoming updates will add more terms.
You can view most of the abbreviations’ definitions on the main screen but some are too long and will appear in a pop-up window if you touch the term. This simple, easy-to-use interface saves time.
The abbreviations are listed in alphabetical form. Like in your Contacts list, you can use the scroll option along the right side of the screen to jump to different letters.
Aviation Abbreviation was updated to Version 1.2 on June 19, 2009, so upcoming updates may not appear. The app has a total of 16 ratings, with an average of 3.5 out of five stars. Customer feedback comments are positive.
