The Beatles Story by Rok Operations is a fantastic app that tells the story of The Beatles using comics and sound.

The first in a series of eight issues, this bio-strip was created by Arthur Ranson and Angus Allan. It’s done along with a new sound track that brings the story to life.

It’s hard to believe this app is free, for what you get: Beatles tracks re-done by The Fab Beatles (a tribute band), material from Paul McCartney’s step-mother Angie McCartney, full-color comic action, and insider info on their rise to fame.

If you love The Beatles – and who doesn’t – then you’ll love this comic. It uses swipe-to-read navigation, offers a rare performance by the group doing “She Loves You” for free, and you can make an in-app purchase of $1.99  to get “We Can Work it Out.”

The app also includes a Sir Paul McCartney profile and an article on the music of 1959 called Looking Back.

The Beatles app was updated to Version 1.2 on November 20, 2012. The update made UI improvements. It currently has 12 customer ratings with an average of five out of five stars and the single feedback comment is positive, saying it’s a “must-have app.”

I agree with the user feedback comment: this is a fantastic app and definitely one that every Beatles lover should download.
