NYTimes for iPad

Price: Free

For: iPad with iOS 5.0 or later

NYTimes for iPad by The New York Times Company gives you a way to enjoy a Times Digital Subscription and read the NYTimes on your iPad.

If you’re a reader of the New York Times and would rather enjoy it on your iPad, then this app is for you. If you’re a new subscriber to the digital version, you’ll get your first week free. All users can use the Top News section, but of course subscribers get access to many more features, including more than 25 sections of the paper plus unlimited access to NYTimes.com on any device.

You’ll see slide shows, video, photos, and more, as well as blog posts and articles. You can sign up for Breaking News Alerts for when you have the app closed. You can read articles online or offline.

You can share articles, photos, and videos on Twitter, Facebook, and through email.

Another feature of this app is the ability to set up your section list to show your favorite blogs and sections. If you really like an article or blog post, you may save it to your iPad for later viewing.
The app is available through the Newsstand folder or via the link above.

A subscription for NYTimes.com and Tablet App is $19.99 per month, while the All Digital Access subscription, which gets you the NYTimes app for iPad and unlimited access to NYTimes.com is $34.99 a month.

NYTimes for iPad was updated to Version 2.5.4 on January 2, 2013. The updated added performance enhancements and made bug fixes.

If you’re like me and enjoy reading the New York Times, you’ll love this app. Of course, if you want the full bang for your buck, you’ll need to get a subscription but even the Top News section is worthwhile.
