Before you can get started using this app, you’ll have to enter your 10 digit phone number, which is used as a tool to connect you with other app users that are nearby. The bluespots - Free app also uses Bluetooth technology to find people in the area so you’ll need to make sure it’s turned on as well, before you attempt to use the app. Once you’ve done both of these things, you’ll be asked to allow the app to access your contacts so that it can match you with any of your contacts that already use the app. The rest is up to you. Bluespots – Free will also allow you to connect with any other users that you haven’t met that are close by – as long as they’ve made themselves visible.

The main body of the app is a news feed that will show you any nearby users that have made themselves visible, as well as your existing friends that are in the area.  It includes their basic information such as a snapshot, their phone number, how far they are from you, and what direction they’re traveling towards. It also allows you to connect with them via text message, phone call, or WhatsApp. It does work well if you’re hoping to run into friends that you might not have known were at the same club – as long as they’re using the app too. It isn’t really necessary if you already know they’re there though.
