Stealth Checkers app review

Stealth Checkers

Price: $0.99
For: iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Combine two classic games in this challenging app from Dreamgames. Stealth Checkers
uses checkers to move around the board like chess pieces according to what you roll on a
specialized pair of dice.
This app is perfect for adults and kids alike and features three different modes of play
which change the level of difficulty. You can play a basic game, stealth mode with the
white knight hidden or double stealth mode with both kings hidden.
If you're familiar with the game of chess, you'll have no problem playing Stealth
Checkers. However, this app is much easier than chess is to play so there's no need to be
an expert. To begin the board will be set up for a game of checkers, the only difference is
that one checker from each of the sides will be turned over and have a mark on it as the
King.
The point of the game is to capture the king from your opponent thereby winning the
game. So how do you move around the board? Well, that's where the dice come into play.
You'll need to roll them to determine how many spaces you'll move and who
will move. One dice is marked as normal with dots from one to six while the other dice is
marked with the chess symbols (knight, pawn, bishop, rook, king, and queen).
Unlike chess you won't be able to move pawns two spaces on the first move and they also won't get promoted to a more "important piece" once they've made their way across the board.
The game did take me some time to get used to but I quickly became quite addicted.
