Create Your Own Comic Masterpieces

I’ve come across other apps in the App Store that allow you to make fun modifications to your photos, but there aren’t too many that actually let you turn your photos into comic books. Most photo editing apps allow you to add simple little badges, alter the overall appearance of the photos, or add some simple text bubbles. What makes Lomics stand out a bit from these other apps is that not only does it allow you to create those text bubbles that are common in comic books, but it also allows you to add effects that are typically used within comics for emphasis or to express an action sequence.

This app really is a lot of fun but there are one or two things that could use a little improvement. For one thing, they don’t provide you with any instructions at all – when you open the app you’re just expected to figure out how to use it yourself. It doesn’t take a long time to figure it out, but even a quick walk-through would have been helpful. There are actually quite a lot of tools to choose from here and once you get the hang of things it’s actually quite impressive for a free app – that’s why it’s so difficult to understand why they wouldn’t want to introduce you to all of the apps major features. How It Works

The first thing you have to do before you can use the Lomics app is to create a user profile with your email address, or using your existing Facebook account. After that the app will then ask for access to your camera, which you’ll want to allow so that you can take pictures that you can include in your comic book. Once you have these basic steps over with you’re ready to start to begin creating your own comic books.

The app prompts you to take essentially two pictures: the first one is a selfie, and the second one is actually a sort of mini video that you can pan around the room or your surroundings – the app then saves this video as a series of still pictures and you use the different frames within your comic book. The next thing you want to do is select the style of your comic book, you’ll find your various options along the bottom of the app and can simply swipe left or right until you find the style you’re looking for. There are more than 10 different comic styles that you can choose from. Once you’ve selected your comic style it’s time to start adding text bubbles to your pictures. To do this you simply double tap on a picture and the different types of text bubbles that are available to you will be listed at the bottom of the screen – all you have to do is drag a text bubble onto your picture, type in the dialog you want to use, select done, and then follow the same process for the rest of your pictures.

Once you’ve completed the process for all of your pictures you’re ready to save your creation and share it with your friends and family. You simply tap on done in the top right-hand corner of the app, then tap on next at the top of the screen, and you’ll be presented with the available sharing options. You can then save it to your camera roll, you can share it on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or you can share it over SMS. You’ve got lots of options for sharing your masterpiece. The Lomics app also includes a social media feed that features the best comics that other users have created – you can share your own and you can interact with other members as well.
