There are only a few apps that can truly be considered groundbreaking – apps like Twitter and Facebook immediately come to mind, so when one comes along its pretty exciting news. I can’t say there are too many apps that make you sit back and say wow, but Giffage seems to qualify. Most of us are very familiar with gifs – these are essentially short little animated pictures meant to express emotions, excitement, or just to have a little fun with. Giffage by Giffage LLC is an app devoted to providing you with quick access to literally thousands of gifs and making it easy to insert them into your various messaging programs. It’s a great little app that you’re bound to be impressed with. This is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The best keyboard apps for iPhone
In the 21st century gifs have become a part of everyday daily online life. We see them in our Facebook feeds, in our Twitter feeds, and emails that are sent to us by coworkers – so it’s no surprise that you’d find an app dedicated to this phenomenon. Giffage is certainly one of the most innovative and impressive apps I’ve ever come across in this category, but it’s not the only one by any means. There are apps that will let you create your own gifs, and other apps that let you add gif keyboards to your device, but in general they don’t have the great selection that you’ll find in Giffage and that’s what separates this app from the crowd. It doesn’t hurt that it has an extremely friendly user interface that’s intuitive and easy to use.Best iphone and ipad apps
As great as the Giffage app is it does have a couple flaws which limit the usefulness of this app. When you read the advertisement on their iTunes download page you’re led to believe that this app will integrate well wherever you can use a keyboard, but it simply doesn’t work in every app as it should. When I tried to use it in Pages for example the cut-and-paste feature simply wouldn’t work – the same thing happened when I tried to use the keyboard function directly in Twitter. You can copy the links and include these in your Pages documents and Twitter posts, but this isn’t quite as effective as including animated pictures. I did find you could tap on the share option from within the app and send the pictures directly to your Twitter or Facebook feeds, but this just included the Gif as a still picture within my post – not exactly what I had in mind. This app will require 32.5 MB of available space on your iOS device.
There are couple different ways you can use this app – you can either use the built-in keyboard that gets added to your iOS device (although you have to activate it first), or you can work with gifs within the app itself. The keyboard option works best within iMessages, Apples Notes app, or in your text messaging app. When you add a gif using the custom keyboard in any one of these apps the animations work perfectly and it’s a great way to impress your friends. To add a gif you simply activate the Giffage keyboard and you’ll see several different options for adding gifs along the top of your keyboard. The blue star icon will let you search by category, the flame icon will show you what’s hot among other users, and the heart icon is where any favorites that you have saved are stored. You can choose any one of these tools to search for the gif you’re looking for, then you just simply tap on it to copy it to the clipboard, and then tap on your text box to insert it in your message.
If you wish to use the actual Giffage app itself instead of the keyboard you’ll find the app is pretty intuitive to use as well – you can either simply scroll through the gifs by swiping left to right, or swipe from the top to the bottom of the app to reveal other options. Here you’ll find four different color coded categories that you can use to explore the app. These include: search, categories, trending, and hearted. If you use the search option you can enter any item you’d like to see if there’s a gifs for, if you search by categories you can scan the apps preselected choices, trending will allow you to see what other users like, and hearted is where you save your own personal favorites. How do you heart an app? Simply tap and hold on a gift until the red heart box appears over top of it – that’s it, it’s now saved in your hearted.
Giffage is a truly groundbreaking app. If you’re a lover of gifs this is simply a must-have app for you. It allows you to add a custom iOS keyboard that will easily allow you to insert gifs into text messages and it’s a great way to impress your friends and family. You can also work with the gifs directly from within the app itself and there are thousands to choose from.
