As a person who loves to play the guitar during his free time I was thrilled to bits when I came across the Final Guitar Pro app. Learning any instrument can be a challenge, but the more tools you have at your disposal the better chance at success you’ll have. The App Store is a great place to find learning tools for just about any instrument, but you won’t find many with the unique interactive approach you’ll find in the Final Guitar Pro app. This is quite simply one of the best guitar teaching tool apps available in the App Store. This app is available for purchase from the App Store at a cost of $19.99 and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
I may play the guitar but I’m a long way from being what you consider a pro – that’s okay, the learning process is something I enjoy. In my quest to become a better guitar player my iPad has been an invaluable tool, partly because of its portability, but also because of the availability of quick access to tons of YouTube video lessons and App Store guitar lessons. I tried dozens of guitar teaching apps, but have always generally fallen back on YouTube as my go to teaching method – that all changed when I started using Final Guitar Pro. This app has everything you need to learn how to play guitar. You’ll have access to every guitar chord you need to become a guitar Pro, as well as many other tools to help you along your journey.
What makes Final Guitar Pro so special is the unique range of tools that it provides. They’ve included pretty much everything that a guitar player needs, and they’ve done it in a beautiful 3-D environment. I loved the fact that you have complete control over the chords you want to hear and in what order, but the best part is that they play the arrangement back to you using a 3-D rendered virtual guitar player. It’s pretty cool. There are great instruction manuals and video tutorials to help you learn how to use this app. This app will require 45 MB of available space on your iOS device.
When you first run the Final Guitar Pro app you’ll be greeted by a comprehensive tutorial which works you through every step you’ll need to begin using the app as a tool to help you improve your guitar play. Basically what you do is choose from a menu of available chords and slide them on to your musical arrangement in the order you’d like them to play. You can also change the timing of the 3-D virtual guitar player’s play, and you can even insert repeats of certain sections by including section blocks. Once your song begins to play if you want to get a closer look at how the virtual guitar player’s fingers form the chords you can simply pinch to zoom in and out and get a better look.
Another great feature of this app is that you can add in drums and bass as well to give the track a realistic sound. The app even has a built-in metronome to help you control the speed of the play. Essentially if there’s anything you can do with a guitar you can probably learn how to do it with this app.

Final Guitar Pro is probably the best guitar teaching app I’ve ever come across in the App Store. It provides a comprehensive list of chords to help you learn how to play guitar and it does it by showing them to you visually using a 3-D virtual guitar player. There are tons of great tools to help you control the timing and when and if the chords repeat. If you want to learn how to play guitar you must get this app.
