PopCalc Free Calculator by Carrel is an amazing calculator app for your iOS device.
This multi-touch calculator app has a spreadsheet-type feel to it and it will completely blow any other calculator out of the water. Its functionality is like you’ve probably never seen before and you’ll likely never want to use a regular calculator again after you’ve tried this one.
This app is great for people who figure percentages, simple equations, or even more complicated equations.
You can tap to add a computed number to your current calculation, swipe to scroll through your calculations, switch between regular and scientific keyboards with a swipe, drag down to add a new line, hold down to move the cursor, and enter calculations just like you’d write them down. This is seriously a revolutionary way to perform calculations.
You can delete or modify any or all lines of a calculation any time you want, send your calculations by IM or email, and use the Smart Percentages function.
If you use brackets, PopCalc understands when to open or close the brackets in your calculations. It also knows how to add a percentage to a number when you type “+10%” after the number.
This is the free version but for only $1.99 you can upgrade with the in-app purchase to get rid of the ad banner and to activate all lines of calculation and all stored numbers in the PopCalc Pro version. If you’d rather just download the paid version straight-away without trying the free version, get it here.
PopCalc Free Calculator was updated to Version 1.4.1 on January 15, 2013. The upgrade added sounds and made minor UI changes.
I really can’t get over how amazing this app is. I use a calculator regularly and am constantly annoyed by the lack of functions. This one not only has all the functions I want, it surpasses my expectations! Try it out today.
