Temple Run 2 by Imangi Studios, LLC is the sequel to one of the games gave mobile gaming a whole new reputation.

In this app, you’re an explorer who has just stolen a “cursed idol” and now are running to escape the temple. Evil Demon Monkeys are after you and it’s your job to run, avoid obstacles, and escape.

Controls in the game are super simple: just tilt your iPhone or swipe up and down, left or right. If you tilt to move, you’ll earn coins which you can use later to upgrade your gear.

Some of the hazards are different from the original, but the way you control your player is the same.

Temple Run 2 has better graphics, better colors, and a bigger monkey. The music adds to the chase feel, with the slightly ominous bongo drum sound, but it’s not overwhelming or overly boring. You can turn off the sound, if you like, but the coin collecting sound is nice to hear.

Collect the power-ups that are scattered throughout the game to collect all the coins all around you and get a bit of a speed boost.

Temple Run 2 was released mid-January 2013 and already has 36,235 customer ratings with an average of four out of five stars.

I played the original Temple Run and this one is way better. If you enjoyed the first game, you should definitely check out Temple Run 2.
