FreshTeam app review: an innovative messaging app for business

Reviews

Introduction

In the fast paced business world every second can count and that means you don’t have time to waste with frivolous messaging back and forth with business associates. What you need is a simple way to know where team members are at all times during the work day so that you can manage your interactions appropriately.

There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting at a meeting for a business partner to show up wondering if they’re going to be on time. With the FreshTeam app you can eliminate all questions of where other team members are by using their innovative tracking technology. This app gives you the answers you need without wasting time on unnecessary text messaging, but it also includes great communication tools for when they are needed. FreshTeam is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

How FreshTeam Got Its Start

FreshTeam was created by the developers of the Intermedia cloud based business email tool, which was one of the first companies to offer this type of service. Using their success in this previous enterprise they decided to launch a comprehensive business messaging tool and the FreshTeam app was the result of that endeavor.

The founder of FreshTeam is Michael Choupak who also happened to be the founder of Intermedia. In fact, most of the Intermedia team also joined the FreshTeam with Manilo Carrelli taking on the function of FreshTeam CEO and Jason Fleitz in charge of design. This team has carried on the success it had with the intermedia brand.

According to Manilo Carrelli, they decided to create this app because of their frustrations with the amount of wasted time people spend sending “trite messages.” In our mobile world every second counts and there’s definitely a need to keep track of where team members are without pulling out your phone to send a text every single time. The company’s research included interviewing people from diverse backgrounds including real estate, medical fields, and event management – they all told them the same thing and that was that they had a very pressing need for an app that can eliminate time wasting. That in a nutshell is why they created FreshTeam.

A Better Way to Stay in Touch with Team Members

By FreshTeam’s own admission, they are not the only app that offers this kind of service as an app called Slack also does some of the same things. The key difference between FreshTeam and Slack is that Slack does not offer team wide location, mobile audio or video, and it does not provide an overall team structure. All of these things you will find in the FreshTeam app and that gives it an edge and makes it a very worthwhile app to download for any business team that wants a competitive advantage over the competition.

What I really liked about the FreshTeam app is that it has a lot of functionality for a free app. You can access all of the app’s major features with the exception of the ability to set places such as your office location or customer sites, which requires an upgrade to a premium service that will cost you $9.99 –even in the free version though you don’t have to worry about ads or annoying messages as it has a nice clean interface which is very user friendly. This app will require 39.2 MB of available space on your iOS device.

The App at a Glance

The app is straightforward and easy to use, but you should be aware that you have to have all team members using the app at the same time for it to be useful. So before you do anything else, it’s best to get in touch with all of your team members and make sure they download the app and accept you as a friend. Once you’ve done that, the app opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Perhaps the biggest attraction of this app is that it allows you to track other team members at locations as long as they have the tracking enabled without having to send them annoying text messages. If you’re at a business meeting waiting for the rest of your team to arrive this can be very helpful. Instead of being frustrated, you can update that important client on when your team members will arrive in real time.

The app also allows for group calls of up to 100 people. If you have a large organization this is an excellent feature and will allow everybody to provide input in real time. If you prefer a more intimate group of people the app can also accommodate that as well. You can also include video messages in your conversations.

You don’t have to worry about your privacy either as each member of the team has complete control over when they want the app to track their location. It can be set to track during certain hours such as business hours or weekdays, or any team member can turn off tracking all together if they prefer. That means you don’t have to worry about everyone knowing where you are on the weekend and you can go about your life in peace.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Great user friendly interface
  • Allows easy tracking of team members
  • Includes group messaging for up to 100 people
  • You can also include video messages
  • Each team member has complete control over their own privacy

Cons

  • Some features are not available in the free version

A Great Business Tool

If you’re looking for a great way to keep your team members in sync at all times then the FreshTeam app is definitely the way to go. This app eliminates the need for unnecessary text messaging as you can quickly see at a glance where each team member is as long as they have the location services turned on. It also has some great communication tools that allow you to message with up to 100 team members. This app is a winner.
