We live in a world that’s become accustomed to having any information we want at our fingertips at any time, but we still have to do a little research on our own even if it is using our smart phones. It turns out there’s an untapped source of information everywhere around us – it’s just that most of us have no idea how to access it. Everything from barcodes on our products to television commercials has built-in information that is available if you have the right equipment. Sure you can go ahead and search for that car that just piqued your interest on a commercial using your favorite search engine, but it would be a whole lot quicker if you had an app that automatically tapped into that information and took you directly to it without ever having to search for it.The best iPhone apps for selling things
Well, as it turns out, there is an app for that and it’s been around for a few years now. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t heard of it until recently, but now that I have, it’s definitely one that’s got me excited. The app I’m referring to is called Minfo and it has the potential to really change the way you live your life. It uses audio and QR scanner technology to access information that’s readily available from all kinds of sources around you. This is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
This is an app with a lot of different features, but don’t worry you won’t have any trouble learning the ropes because the developer includes an excellent graphic step-by-step explanation of each feature for you. Each step includes screen captures from the actual app and written descriptions next to each setting to explain how things work. If you follow along carefully you’ll figure out how to use this app in a matter of seconds. The best iPhone apps for jewelries
The Minfit capture feature is arguably the best feature of this app. When you activate this feature it will actually listen to its surroundings and tap into any information available and display potential products from that information. The best example of this is if you’re watching TV and a commercial comes on – if you activate the Minfit capture function it will actually listen to the commercial playing and use embedded information in that commercial to pull the product information directly into the app. I don’t know about you, but there are many times when I’m watching a commercial and think I’d like to look into that product, but then forget all about it shortly thereafter. This feature allows you to save that information without even really thinking about it and you can easily access it whenever you’re ready. The best iPhone apps for the shopaholic
While I haven’t actually had an opportunity to try out this function, the app will actually provide you with all sorts of product and service information if a business you’re visiting is set up as a Minfo zone. For example, if you’re out for lunch at a restaurant and the restaurant is set up as a Minfo zone you can actually access all of the menu information right from your phone. It’s a great convenience and time saving feature.
It stands to reason that you may want to share all of this great information with family or friends and you can do that using the app’s sharing option on the main menu at the bottom which will allow you to either email Minfad’s (product information) that you’ve found or send it to them over social media. It’s a quick and easy way to share information.
Every time you access product information using the Minfo app, it will be stored in a history section which you can access at any time. That means you don’t have to worry about losing track of something that you’ve accessed within the app before – you can simply open up your history and scroll through to find the product or service information you’re looking for.
The only problem with the history function is that after you’ve used the app for a while the list of products and services that you’ve found is likely to get quite long. If you find something that’s of particular interest you can save it as a favorite and that way you’ll be able to keep track of your most important information much more easily in shorter more focused list. They really have thought of just about everything to make your life as convenient as possible with this app.
Almost all products these days have built-in barcodes that store all relevant product information including the price. This app also has a QR scanner that’s able to read these barcodes and access all of that information within the app for you. All you have to do is activate the QR scanner function by tapping on QR Capture, allow the app to access your camera, and place your device over the barcode so that it can read it – that’s it and all the information will automatically be saved to the app.
I did try to use this app on some barcodes and nothing came up. Additionally, when I tried to record some commercials, no information came up. This is most likely due to the products not having information embedded because the app did work several times with other products and commercials. So, just be patient and realize that more products and commercials will be compatible with this app in due time as they start containing more embedded information.
Minfo is an app with the potential to change the way you live your life. When it works properly, you don’t have to worry about using the search engine to find product information about a commercial you just watched on TV as the app automatically does this for you. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work in all circumstances, but if more companies jump on the bandwagon and use information embedding technology it has the potential to be one of the most useful apps in the App Store.
