SMS Smileys by Robert Beierheimer is an app that gives you more than 840 different Smileys in addition to other symbols.

Installation of the app is simple: just press one button. After that, you’ll see Smileys on your keyboard. To use the Smileys in your apps, just type them in from your keyboard into your SMS messages, email, Twitter, iMessage, as well as in your Calendar app, Notes app, and Contacts app.

As a side note, only those people with an iOS or OS device will be able to see these Emojis; unfortunately anyone else will not be able to view them. This is yet another reason your friends will want to get an iPhone!

This app works with iOS 3, 4, 5, and 6. It works with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. This really is a universal app. The developer also plans to add lots of free updates in the future.

SMS Smileys was updated to Version 1.3 on September 6, 2012. The update added Emoji Text Pics. The app is available in English only. This version has 65 customer ratings with an average of 3.5 out of five stars.

I like the idea of having extra emoticons to use in all my apps; I’m not sure how many of the 840+ Smileys and Emojis I’ll use, but it’s nice having them there as an option.
